Nowadays our world is unimaginable without travelling and it does not mean only journeys abroad. Some people claim that touring around your own country helps to understand its history and culture while others argue that you can learn about your native lands without travelling in them. In this essay I would like to express my point of view on this issue.

To my mind, I tend to agree with the opinion that people should travel around their own country if they want to know about it more and understand it better for two main reasons. The first one is the fact that visiting historical sights and seeing important monuments makes it possible to learn more about country’s past. These meaningful places also help us to find out more about culture and traditions of nation. According to the second reason, while travelling you communicate with a lot of people from your own country and it can really help you to understand their mentality.

However, there are people who think differently.

They claim that reading a lot of books and watching documental films about one’s country can easily be enough for learning about it.

I can not agree with this point of view because you can not understand a lot of things without seeing them by your own eyes and feeling their emphasis by yourself.

In conclusion, travelling around your own country gives you a great possibility to get more information about it.
