There are a lot of discussions about the Internet nowadays. Some people are convinced that the Internet is the worst thing which happened to humanity, while others believe that the appearance of the Internet is extremely advantageous to people.

To begin with, I want to point out that the Internet does not have a negative influence on something or someone. Firstly, the Web is useful for us. We can communicate with our relatives who live even in another country. Secondly,

the invention of the Internet assisted in high technologies developing. For example, using an online bank, one has an opportunity to pay their bills right at home. Thirdly, the Internet provides us with a wide selection of entertainment.

Nevertheless, some opine that the Internet is the evil of our time.

First of all, they claim that the Web is a wealth of useless information. Moreover, using social media, bloggers deceive people, and therefore the Internet is the reason

for peoples` misunderstanding.

Anyway, I disagree with my opponents. We acquire a lot of important knowledge on the Internet. For example, there are plenty of web sites with lessons which are essential for students. In addition, we can hear the real world`s news due to such bloggers. If we did not have the Internet, we would

only watch TV news which are not always truthful.

Summing up, I want to stress that the invention of the

Internet is the best thing which happened to us.

Dear Moira,

Thanks for your recent letter. It was great to hear from you again. I`m sorry I haven`t answered earlier, but I was really busy at school. I`m glad that you`re fine.

In your letter you asked me about cooking. Well, I like cooking desserts, like cookies, cakes, or home-made sweets. Actually, Russian traditional food is borsh, solyanka and so on, but we don`t eat if every day, of course. To be honest, Russian people like fast food too.

By the way, I want to ask you some questions about your grandparents. How old are they? Do they like gardening? Are your grandparents retired?

Unfortunately, I have to go now because my mum is calling me.
