40. The Internet is the biggest evil of our time (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

There is a popular opinion that the Internet has a negative influence on people. At the same time, some people believe that the Internet is the most useful invention and simply can not imagine their lives without it. Now I would like to express my point of view on this issue.

In my opinion, the importance of the Internet should not be underestimated or ignored. Let us start by considering the facts. The first thing that needs to be said is that the Internet is the largest library of information which can quickly provide us with a great variety of unknown facts and stories about everything we are interested in without making us leave the house.

Secondly, using social media gives us an opportunity to communicate with people who live abroad which is an excellent way to extend our knowledge about different peoples, their culture and customs.

However, there is an opposite point of view that spending hours on the Internet is not only a total waste of time but it is also distracting us from truly important things such as spending time with family or doing the housework.

I do not entirely agree. It is true that sometimes people devote too much time to social media and as a result forget to finish important work but during the process they get a chance to relax after a long day and rejuvenate.

In conclusion, I would like to say that the Internet is one of the greatest tools we have today.
