Exams motivate students to study harder (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

It is common knowledge that every pupils and every student has to take exams. Many people claim that exams promote learners to study harder. However, others believe that an examination is not a motivator for pupils to learn the lessons better.

In my opinion, checking students’ knowledge is a far better option to motivate them. Firstly, examination means assessment of received information. If there was no assessment, there would be no desire to study. Secondly, pupils’ mark for an exam affects the future. For instance, school children can apply for admission in prestigious universities with their high score for the exams. Lastly, exams imply an opportunity to show students’ abilities.

I suppose every scholar would like his or her results to be high to stand out among students. Therefore, check of knowledge stimulates learners to study much better.

Nevertheless, the opponents argue that the tests of knowledge do not motivate learners to study diligently. They say that a desire to obtain valued knowledge depends on a type of person. There are hard-working people who always study more affectively and indifferent ones who never try to study better.

Despite this, I disagree. Nowadays results of the exams determine successful future, so I consider that even lazy person can study harder thinking about his future.

In conclusion, I am firmly convinced that examinations are strong motivators for students.
