Using the Internet has become a quite major part of teens’ lives. Some people claim that surfing the Net has a bad influence on children, while others disagree with it. This essay reflects my point of view on this issue.

I am of the opinion that screen time does more harm than good for teens. In the first place, young people are easily addicted to things which are entertaining and attractive.

That is why some teenagers cannot live without checking media platforms on their cells or laptops. It may be the reason of some health problems. As the research shows technology addiction damage the parts of the brain dealing with attention and decision-making. Moreover, surfing of websites destroys children activity and socialisation. For example, teens these days rather to stay at home than go outside and spend time with friends in real-time.

However, some people argue that there is nothing bad in using the Internet by teens. They think that the Internet provides them opportunity for information gathering. And access to a wide variety of resources helps with school homework, broaden of personal interests etc.

Nevertheless, I still believe that the network has a negative impact on teenagers. Of course, websites give young people helpful information, but not always. For example, photos or achievements of others on the Net may seem more appealing than they actually are. It can cause to teens’ low self-esteem or anxiety.

To conclude, despite the advantages of searching the Net, it may be harmful for kids.

Nowadays people are getting more and more concerned about learning foreign languages. Some people claim that singing is an amazing way to improve language skills, while others do not believe it. In this essay I will try to look upon this issue.

I am of the opinion that singing favorite songs can be a really efficient way to learn a language. There are a few reasons for that. To begin with, learning the lyrics of a song helps you expand your vocabulary and teach you some slang phrases. Practice shows that to understand the song’s message, learner have to translate unknown words and remember them. In addition, singing may help to reduce foreign-sounding accent. You not just listen to native-speakers’ pronunciation, you repeat it back in order to sing a song right. Moreover, singing is fun, which makes learning process more exiting.

However, some people argue that singing is useless for language learners. They believe that it is not serious enough to acquire language skills, because students find singing relaxing and do not put much effort into it.

Nevertheless, I still think that singing can make a huge difference in learning progress. You just have to actually pay attention to the words of song if you want to take an advantage of this activity.

To conclude, singing may be a great way to fluency in foreign language. It is not just fun but can be a serious study as well.
