Taking a gap year between school and University is a waste of time (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

It is known that a gap year is a break between school and University admission. There are different opinions about taking it. Some people think this is useless pastime, while others believe that every student should take a break between studies. So in this essay I will try to express my opinion on this issue.

To begin with, I would like to look upon arguments for taking a gap year. The first thing to be considered is a fact that gap year is a perfect opportunity to travel, to participate in volunteer programs and to find new friends. Secondly, gap year gives you a chance to think about what you really want to do. In addiction, you can learn to be independent, prepare for admission better, try yourself in the chosen profession.

On the other hand, there are some disadvantages about gap year.

First of all, there are no special programs for students who take gap year in Russia. There is also a chance of delaying admission for too long, and the older you are, the harder it is to learn. Thirdly, if you are not studying and you are 18 years old, you can be taken to the army in Russia.

However, I think this is a great opportunity for anyone to know himself better. You have time to prioritize and relax. It would be great if such a possibility fully existed in my country.

All the things considered, there are some advantages and disadvantages about this issue. It seems to me there are more positive than negative aspects about taking a gap year, so it is not a waste of time.
