Friendship has always been important for people. Many writers, philosophers and psychologists refer to this issue in their works. Ordinary people also pay much attention to the questions of friendship. Some people believe that there may be only one true friend, while others consider that you can have many friends.

In my opinion, we should have many friends who will support and help us. To begin with, the more friends you have, the funnier your life is.

It is much more interesting and enjoyable to go to the cinema or club with many friends. Moreover, if you have a lot of friends, you can share interests and discuss different topics. As there are many people there may be interesting opposing opinions or bright ideas. Besides, in case you get into trouble, you will have more chances to be helped.

On the other hand, some people think that there can be only one true and loyal friend. The first argument is that there is a higher level of trust and confidentiality between two people. Secrets can be shared only between the closest persons. Furthermore, you have no reasons to feel jealousy.

Despite these arguments, I still disagree that a person can have only one true friend because having fun with one person is impossible.

To sum up, I suppose that friendship brings joy as well as opportunities to communicate.

Some people believe that true friendship may last the whole life. Relationships start and finish, but a good friendship can last a lifetime. Unfortunately, many people go to different cities, and their friendship ends.

In my opinion, we can have many friends who will support and help us during our whole life. To begin with, many people have some very good friends who they have known since their youth or childhood. Moreover, when old friends support each other for many years, they eventually can become part of a family. In particular, if people are starting to be God-parents of the children of their friends. Besides, close friends want to continue their friendship for as long as it is possible.

On the other hand, there is an opinion that friendship will not endure for decades or good friends can betray each other one day. In addition, there are many quarrels and conflicts among people leading to inevitably drifting apart.

I do not agree with the above mentioned point of view. First of all, true friends can cope with any challenges. In the modern world, friendship can depend on distance due to the help of new technologies.

Summing it all up, friends appear and disappear throughout our lives, but if we are lucky, we find some lifelong friends who will always be there for us.
