Public libraries are becoming less popular and they will soon disappear - Эссе по английскому языку ЕГЭ 2019

Reading is a wonderful hobby that is popular among people of different ages. Many people borrow their books from public libraries while others prefer to buy, download them from the Internet or read online. The latter are sure that libraries are useless and they will not exist in the future. So, who is right?

To tell the truth, I am convinced that in the future there will be no place for libraries.

Firstly, nowadays there are more bookshops than libraries. So, it is faster to buy the book you need than to look for the nearest library to borrow it. Secondly, if you do not want to pay for the book, you can easily download it from the Internet or even read online.

However, many people are convinced that libraries are the best places for book lovers. It is important for them not to spend much money on books. Moreover, they do not hurt their eyes by using computers for reading.

I am afraid, I cannot agree with such arguments because nowadays you could easily download many books in digital format either for free or much cheaper than printed/paper copies. Moreover, there are special devices, called e-books or readers, that are harmless to our eyes.

To sum up, I strongly believe that libraries will disappear in the nearest future. Though there are people who enjoy going to libraries, it is certainly not my choice.
