Nowadays soap operas become more and more popular. Many viewers enjoy watching this kind of series and think it is exciting enough. However, some claim that soap operas do not worth our attention and time. In the essay, I will try to express my point of view on this issue.

I completely support the opinion that watching soap operas is a waste of time. First of all, they actually do not show a true picture of our world. There are unrealistic dramatic events, a serial do not have the beginning and the end, characters are too emotional.

Secondly, watching soap operas will not give helpful or interesting information. We can do productive things instead of sympathy for fictional people. For example, I prefer learning English and preparing for my exams to spending time in front of the television.

Nevertheless, we can find the opposite point of view. Some people are sure that watching soap operas is the great way to relax. Uncomplicated plot and silly dialogues help to forget about stress in the real life.

I cannot agree with this opinion because there are many other activities for the rest. It can be reading, doing sport or something like that. Consequently, you spend your time more efficient and productive.

In conclusion, it is important to emphasize that leisure need to be as enjoyable as useful. People should spend their time reasonably and live up to the hilt.
