Contemporary publicist Zakharov in his article worries about the faith, responsibility and moral choice of man.

The problems raised by the author are not new, but very relevant. An approach to the disclosure of these problems is interesting. The author gives an example from the first edition of Bulgakov's novel "The Master and Margarita" about the act of the militant atheist Antoshi Bezrodniy, who tramples on the "outlines of the sacred face", succumbing to demonic delusion.

Zakharov, this example emphasizes an important thought of Bulgakov, that a man without faith easily submits to another's will. He also mentions Pontius Pilate, who sent an innocent man to death for fear of destroying his career.

It seems to me that the author's position is expressed in the following words: "faith gives man strength to sacrifice for the sake of high and great, faith gives a person spirituality ..."

With this thought it is impossible not to agree. Faith protects from the dangers of life, helps to make the right choice in a difficult moral situation. A person whose soul is converted to faith is capable of a feat, a sacrifice "for the sake of high and great."

Russian classical literature gives us many examples of this. In the heroic tale of N. Gogol "Taras Bulba" is depicted the death of the Zaporozhye Cossacks for holy Russia, for the faith. Faith in the rightful cause of their struggle gave strength to die with words on their lips: "The way stands for all time, the Orthodox Russian land ..."! And the choice of Sotnikov in Vasil Bykov's novel of the same name? The hero sacrifices his life, because he believes in victory, which gives him steadfastness in the face of the enemy and does not allow him to become a traitor.

Modern reality gives us polar examples, confirming the position of the author of the article read. Our fellow countryman, a soldier who was captured by the Islamists, gave his life, but he did not give up the Orthodox faith, and after his death the church ranked the Saints. A sensational story with the girls from the group "Pussy Riot" - evidence of where leads "blind and soulless ... unbelief."

The article by journalist Zakharov made a very strong impression on me, forcing me to seriously reflect on the importance for the modern young generation of the problems posed by the author.
