38. These days, young people love reading and discussing books. While doing a project on what literary genres are popular among Zetland teenagers, I found an opinion poll on the same topic. In this essay, I am going to analyze this information and give my opinion on the subject of my project.

The results contained in the table reveal that the most widespread option for teenagers is fantasy (30%). A quarter of the respondents (25%) enjoy science fiction. The percentage of those who read other modern literature is 15%.

It is also worth mentioning that the number of the teenagers who chose detective, war and spy stories (20%) is twice as much as the number of those who prefer classical literature (10%). The possible reason for that is the complexity of classical books. Most adolescents want to read about exciting adventures in a simple style, therefore classical literature seems boring to them.

It is also important to emphasize some issues that can arise with reading. One of them is the high price of books. A way of solving this problem is for people to borrow books from the library. It is also possible to find books on the Internet for free.

In conclusion, I would like to say that reading is necessary for a teenager. Books help to expand horizons and understand the world better. Moreover, reading improves imagination and makes a person more creative.
