Nowadays reading is very important in teenagers’ lives. There are two opposite opinions about it:some people suppose that we should permit teenagers to read all books they enjoy while other people claim that young people should not be permitted to read everything.

In my opinion, teenagers should not be limited in what they want to read. Firstly, only by reading everything they want, youngsters can understand what they really like. Secondly, there are a lot of good books from modern writers and it is highly probable that adults do not know about most of them, so if teenagers read only what they are advised to read, they will not learn about most of these great books.

However, there are people who disagree with me. They presume that the youth cannot read all books without any prohibitions.

They believe that there are a lot of bad books which they can read if nobody forbids it to them and they would badly affect teenagers and spoil their taste.

Nevertheless, I do not agree with the above-mentioned opinion. I strongly believe that reading both good and bad books helps teenagers to create literary taste, learn to understand which books are worth reading and learn to find their favourite books.

In conclusion, I would like to say that reading is an important part of people’s lives. Teenagers are only looking for books they like so they ought not to be limited.
