Nowadays, we live in a developing world and foreign languages have become an essential part of it. Some people hold the opinion that learning foreign languages is a useless thing, whereas others consider that languages can help us in almost any situation.

Personally, I think that it is necessary to learn at least one foreign language. Here I can support my point of view with the following arguments. First of all, studying languages helps you during travel. You can learn more about the history and culture of different countries.

For instance, people spend a lot of money on tutors, courses and classes, but they may never use them.

However, I disagree with the opinion mentioned above. The knowledge of foreign languages is a great opportunity to make new acquaintances with people with a different mentality, character or interests. Also, the knowledge of the languages gives an advantage in applying for a job.

Taking everything into account, I would like to say that there are opposing views on this issue. Nevertheless, I strongly believe that profound knowledge of languages opens up opportunities and provides advantages not only in the professional field, but also in the entertainment field. So, learning foreign languages is not a waste of time and money.
