It is reported that billions of dollars are spent on space exploration projects every year. Some people believe that this money should be used to solve problems on Earth (Ñî÷èíåíèÿ ÅÃÝ àíãëèéñêèé ÿçûê)

Nowadays mankind is already used to perform miscellaneous space researches annually, which obviously demand considerable amounts of money. Some people find these huge investments in such explorations necessary, while others believe that it is more rational to spend money on solving actual problems which people face on Earth.

To my mind, human race has not achieved such level of development by which we are able to explore remote galaxies yet.

Firstly, I suppose so on the grounds of the fact that we have not solved such tremendous problems as poverty, famine and environmental contamination yet. Therefore, it seems to me that our cooperative efforts should be focused primarily on solving abovementioned problems. Secondly, there are a lot of essential things such as world ocean or even human body that also have not explored thoroughly yet.

However, there are some people who do not share this point of view. Such people claim that those scientists who research space primarily must be maintained financially, rather than their colleagues in other spheres or ordinary people. They state so because they believe that humanity has spoiled their home so intensely that all we have to do is to hope that scientists someday will find out a place in the universe, where we will manage to live.

To a certain extent, they are right; however I still believe that our planet can be recovered from our harmful activity, but only in case if we unite our financial and mental opportunities in order to solve vital problems.

To sum up, I strongly believe that it is needless to explore space until we manage to eliminate more important troubles.
