Virtual Internet communication results in losing real life social skills (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

There is a popular opinion that emailing and chatting online can lead to losing communication skills. At the same time, some people claim that it is impossible because social media gives us lots of opportunities for developing these skills.

I strongly believe that virtual Internet communication is a reason for losing important skills. First of all, people using new digital technologies people become addicted and cannot imagine his or her life without these things. It means that a person who always communicates via the Internet can have problems with expressing one’s own feelings in life conversation. Secondly, people should interact with others on an everyday basis. For instance, if a person is used to online chatting he or she can feel uncomfortable among people.

However, my opponents think that the Internet only makes people’s communication easier. In their view, networks offer people a great opportunity to make new acquaintances or keep in touch with relatives through video connection what cannot lead to losing real life skills.

Personally, I do not agree with the above-mentioned opinion. I am convinced that global networks will not replace direct communication because not everyone has an access to the Internet and this way of interaction does not allow users to hug relatives or enjoy each other’s company.

In conclusion, I would like to stress that online communication leads to problems with interaction because social skills need to be used regularly. People addicted to the Internet express their emotions through the use of emojis that is why users have difficulties with a real conversation.
