The ordinary learning system in schools is based on teachers assessing their pupils' knowledge. But sometimes it comes to mutual assessing between teacher and students, which is becoming more and more popular way of studying, though not official.

What concerns me, I am strongly sure that mutual assess is a good thing. Firstly, it helps to provide good relations between pupils and their teacher and thus increase performance of the firsts. Secondly, teachers are also not perfect in their subjects, even being superior than their students; therefore such way of teaching does a lot of good to both sides. Finally, this will help teacher to understand what any of their students lack of and help them more efficiently this way.

However, there is another side of the coin.

Some people think that assessing should be unilateral, coming only from a tutor. To begin with, the propositors of that opinion suppose that a teacher, whoever he or she is, is an unshakable authority and that pupils do not have any right to give assessments to them. According to their point of view, the relationship between students and teacher should be not more than formal, without any closer ties.

But nevertheless, it is considered that informal relations in the form of mutual assess helps to gain more rich experience, thus bringing more use to both students and tutors.

To sum up, I would like to say once again that mutual assess brings far more use to students and teachers by making their relations not so formal and tense.
