Some people maintain the idea that circus is one of the best entertainments not only for adults but even more for children. Their opponents think completely otherwise. Let us examine some of the reasons for such differences of attitude and opinions.

I totally agree with the point of view that disadvantages of circuses are numerous. To begin with, circus animals live in captivity most part of their lives. Furthermore, animals in circuses are cruelly treated, they are severely punished for disobedience and forced to perform difficult tricks.

Nevertheless, there is an opinion that the circus is a place where the family can entertain themselves with their kids. There you can see focuses of magicians, acrobatic performances, trained animals and so on. Additionally, there are a lot exotic animals which you can never see in real life.

I cannot agree with the statement given above. Firstly, there is nothing wrong about watching acrobats or magicians but watching animals that suffer in captivity is a doubtful enjoyment.

Secondly, in circuses exotic animals are kept in improper conditions. Besides, there are other, much better places to watch exotic animals, for example wildlife sanctuaries.

To sum up, I would like to emphasize that both opinions have their clear pros and cons, but I strongly believe that the circus is not the best place to go for fun because their performances are based on animals’ suffer. I believe that shows with animals should be prohibited in circuses.
