Over the last few years, the question of visiting museums has aroused intense debate. Some people believe that museums are irreplaceable educational institutions, while others do not agree with this point of view.

In my opinion, museums are an essential part of our life. Firstly, they are one of the best ways to spend free time productively. People can learn something new about history, arts or science with the help of them. Secondly, museums are of primary importance for the tourism industry. Many tourists during their trips enjoy visiting museums as they are unique and help to understand culture of other countries and broaden people’s mind.

However, there are people who think otherwise. They believe that going to museums does not appeal to young people.

More and more conventional museums are being replaced by online ones. They are more convenient and time-saving as people can study exhibitions at home without having to spend their time on commuting.

Nevertheless, I cannot agree with the previous argument. I strongly believe that online museums cannot convey the atmosphere of traditional ones. Only there people have a chance to see and explore authentic works of art or ancient household utensils and artifacts, which is worth the time spent on commuting.

To sum up, I am firmly convinced that museums are beneficial for people as they serve to keep and save cultural and historical heritage of countries even though there are different points of view on this problem.
