With the advent of information technology, printed books began to gradually fade into the background, and electronic books are coming to replace them. Many people think that a book is a person's best friend, but part of society does not agree with them.

In my opinion, a book really is a person's best friend. Firstly, books broaden a person's horizons. For example, many works of art help us to see the way of life of people who lived before, and historical books show people the events that took place in certain epochs of time and how people survived in those harsh conditions, for example, in war. Secondly, thanks to books, a person develops a fantasy. For example, reading many works of fiction, people go to the mysterious world together with the heroes of the works, experience their lives, and that is why they do not want the books to end and everything that a person imagined suddenly disappeared.

Thirdly, the book helps to answer many questions and is a good adviser for a person. So, thanks to the book, we learn to empathize with the heroes, analyze their actions, which is why it becomes easier for a person to understand the actions of others, as well as make decisions in difficult situations. That is why the book can be called a person's best friend, as well as a good adviser.

Others believe that a book cannot be called a person's best friend. Firstly, reading books can be dangerous in some cases. For example, sometimes reading books can be dangerous, because it can take people along with the heroes of the works into a mysterious world in which they have a wonderful life, but once they find themselves back in real life, people can no longer live normally, because it's hard for them to continue to be in a non-ideal world. Therefore, a book can become not a friend, but a real enemy for a person.

I do not support the opinion that some people do not consider a book to be a person's best friend. I am more inclined to the opposite point of view and believe that the book is not only the best friend, but also a good adviser to a person.

Books will always help answer this or that question and help to understand and make a decision in any difficult situation.

Summing up, I believe that the book can undoubtedly be called a person's best friend. It is she who broadens the horizons, helps to answer questions that arise in a person, and also thanks to reading many books, a person replenishes his vocabulary and develops imagination and fantasy.
